From Inquiry Through Discovery

From inquiry through discovery (EBP steps 0-2): Since choosing a topic, developing a searchable PICOT question, and retrieving relevant peer-reviewed scholarly articles, my team and I didn’t have to revise our topic or question from the original ideas we had in the beginning. Once we found a topic we all wanted to pursue and a question that was fitting, we didn’t have to change it to help our research search. The challenges that we faced were formulating a PICOT question and finding published articles that were recent. We were able to formulate a PICOT question by working out what we needed for variables and getting feed back from our instructor on how to fix the PICOT question to put the variables in the correct spot of the question to make it easier to find research. We were able to fix the problem of finding recently published articles by narrowing our search parameters to more recent years and by double checking the articles we found to make sure they were published within the last five years. I think the major success that our team has experienced is the great communication and team work that we have used when competing the assignments. We all know what we have to do and we are very supportive of each other when helping with assignments or checking work to make sure everything is done right. Having great communication and teamwork in a group project is one of the best successes a group could ask for.
