For the past semester, I have been working on a team research paper for my evidence-based practice class. For this paper, we wanted to see if nurses who participated in a regular exercise program would have lower levels of occupational stress compared to those who did not. The findings from this paper showed that not enough research had been conducted to implement this into practice. However, I did learn a little bit about myself during the process. I learned that I work well with others, I am able to collaborate with others during team projects, and I have good time management skills that helped me complete tasks on time. I also found out that I am good at problem solving and delegating tasks that best fit everyone’s skill sets. I will be able to use this team research paper and the skills I have built upon to contribute to quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives as a new nurse by using the communication skills, collaboration skills, and the ability to manage my time wisely to work on projects that could improve the work environment and patient care.
