AIE Final Project- Maternal Mortality in Minority Populations

This semester we completed a research project on a topic of our choosing. We chose the topic of Maternal Mortality in Minority Populations. During our research, we found that there is a disparity in the care received between minority groups and caucasian patients because of perceived pain tolerance, improper care, and varied admission rates to name a few. There are currently organizations and services working to end this disparity and give minority populations the care they deserve. This presentation gives an overview of the problem, some personal stories, and some steps that can be made to address this issue. If you would like to learn more, there is an outline posted above as well as a link that will take you to the recording of our presentation where we covered the topic on a deeper level.
